Merrychef eikon e2s (incl. V2)
Compact rapid-cook oven combining microwave, impingement and convection. Errors show on screen as ERROR: plus a number, and every error is kept in a log you can read in service mode or copy to USB.
What it is: High-speed combination oven. eikon e2s and e2s V2.
Key combo: At the splash screen tap top-right to skip preheat, enter the user password, tap the spanner, then enter the service password.
Merrychef eikon e2s (incl. V2) error codes
| Code | Meaning | Likely cause | How to reset |
|---|---|---|---|
| E101 | Magnetron failed to draw current when asked | 0 A: primary side (SRB to HV transformer). Under 5 A: secondary side (transformer, diode, capacitor, magnetron) or low mains voltage. Loose connections are the most common cause | Test one magnetron at a time in Visual View. Don't condemn the magnetron first. Clear by switching off and on. |
| E102 | Heater on without being asked (over 1 A with heating off) | Shorted output triac on the SRB, wiring, cavity leaks | Replace the SRB and check the related wiring. |
| E103 | Control area over 70 °C | Front air filter not cleaned, oven near a heat source, slow or reversed cooling fan (check its capacitor) | Clears when the boards fall below 50 °C. Clean the filter daily. |
| E104 | Overheat thermostat circuit open | Cavity overheat stat (manual reset), magnetron stats or convection fan protection (self-resetting), poor cooling, mains pulled before the cavity cooled | Power off and isolate for 20 min. If it stays, reset the cavity stat: remove the 5.5 mm bolt on the back panel near the rear vent and press the button. |
| E105 | Mains frequency more than 2% off nominal | Unstable supply such as a generator, or interference from a microwave leak | Check the supply and do a leak test. |
| E106 | Cavity more than 25 °C over set point | Stalled convection fan, speed controller, thermocouple connection, product fire | Check the fan and thermocouple. |
| E107 | No communication between QTS and SRB | Loose or damaged RJ45 cable | Reseat or replace the cable. Logged normally at boot and during firmware updates, followed by E000. |
| E108 / E109 | Wrong or missing personality module (QTS / SRB) | Module not moved over when a board was replaced | Fit the correct module, then load current firmware. |
| E110 | SRB and QTS firmware do not match | Board replaced or firmware load interrupted | Load the latest firmware; do not switch off until preheat starts. |
| E111 | Cavity thermocouple open or no temperature rise for 10 min | Thermocouple unplugged or broken; SRB | A log reading of 32767 means open circuit. Replace thermocouple, then SRB if it returns. |
| E112 | SRB ambient sensor failure | SRB fault | Replace the SRB (move the module across) and load firmware. |
| E113 | Magnetron on without request (over 1 A) | SRB fault | Replace the SRB. |
| E115 (E117 on old firmware) | Overheat thermostat opened during a microwave cook | Blocked filter, poor cooling, panels off | See E104. Clean and refit the air filter under the door. |
| E116 | Heater asked for but under 1 A drawn | Connections from the supply through filter, fuses and SRB to the element | Check every connection first; the element rarely fails. Replace the SRB last. |
| E087 | Key held more than 15 s; oven stops | Debris under the overlay, old firmware, QTS fitted wrong | Update firmware, clean and replace the overlay, calibrate the screen, replace the QTS last. |
| E088 | Mains voltage more than 10% off (under 180 V or over 264 V) | Site supply, or connections to the SRB | Compare the real supply with Visual View. |
| E099 | User chose to continue with the filter removed | Filter magnets or microswitch | Check the filter switch and wiring. |
| E000 / E081 / E082 / E086 / E100 | Information events (comms OK, firmware or menu updated, soft power on, mains on) | Normal | No action needed. |
How to enter service mode
- Switch on. At the splash screen, tap the top right corner to skip the cavity preheat.
- Enter the user (manager) password on the keypad and tap the green tick. The Settings menu opens.
- Tap the spanner symbol.
- Enter the service password and tap the green tick. The service tabs appear.
- The user and service passwords can be changed on site. Ask the owner or the Merrychef service network for the current ones.
How to use the service menu
- In service mode, pick the tab you need: Error log, Oven counters, Visual view, Demo mode, Temp. comp. (cavity temperature calibration), component tests or the recommissioning test.
- Use the down and up arrows for more options.
- Use the return (backspace) arrow to leave the service screens.
- Run the recommissioning test after every repair before handing the oven back.
Other useful key presses
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Clear an error message | Switch the oven off and on, or cycle the mains supply. |
| Copy the error log to USB | In service mode choose Error log to USB and confirm. The file is a .csv with error code, time and readings. |
Notes
- Always discharge the high-voltage circuit before working with the panels off.
- Microwave leakage above 5 mW/cm² means the oven must not be used; any leak above 0.5 mW/cm² should be fixed.
For licensed technicians only. This equipment can involve mains voltage, high-voltage microwave circuits, gas and refrigerant. Isolate power (and gas) before opening panels, follow the manufacturer's manual and your local licensing rules (for example ARC refrigerant handling and electrical or gas licences). Wrong settings can spoil food or damage equipment. Check every value on the unit in front of you before changing it.
