Manitowoc Indigo NXT
Touchscreen cubers that log faults in an alert log with E codes. The board also has a thaw cycle for stuck harvests and a safe mode that keeps the machine running if a level or thickness probe fails.
What it is: Modular cube ice machine. Air, water, remote and QuietQube models with the touchscreen display.
Key combo: Tap the alert icon on the display to open the alert log.
Manitowoc Indigo NXT error codes
| Code | Shown as | What triggers it |
|---|---|---|
| E01 | Long Freeze | Three freeze cycles in a row reach 35 minutes. Machine shuts off. |
| E02 | Long Harvest | Three harvest cycles in a row reach 7 minutes. Machine shuts off. |
| E03 | Power Loss | Power was interrupted. Logged with a time stamp at the next power-up. |
| E04 | Hi cnd Temp / Wtr Cnd Fault | Liquid line too hot: air-cooled or water-cooled condenser fault. |
| E05 | HPC Fault | High pressure cut-out opened. |
| E07 | Starving TXV / Low On Charge | Evaporator inlet (T3) and outlet (T4) more than 12 °F apart in the last minute of freeze. Single evaporator. |
| E08 | TXV Fault | Same T3 / T4 test on single or dual circuit evaporators. |
| E09 | Flood Evap1 | Discharge line (T2) did not warm enough compared with pre-chill (T1) in the first 6 minutes of freeze. Single circuit. |
| E10 | Flood Evap2 | As E09, dual TXV / dual circuit. |
| E11 | Refrig Fault | Discharge temperature did not rise and evaporator did not fall by at least 10 °F by 2 minutes into freeze. |
| E12 | Curtain Fault | Bin-full (curtain open or off) for more than 24 hours while set to make ice. |
| E15 | Low liq temp | Liquid line below 60 °F for more than a minute in freeze (fan cycle control fault). |
| E16 | Rmt Cnd Fault | Remote condensing unit: liquid line below 40 °F or above 140 °F for more than a minute in freeze (CVD only). |
| E19 | ITP Fault | Ice thickness probe signal out of range (unplugged or faulty probe). |
| E20 | WTR Fault | Water system: high probe sensed without low probe, evaporator outlet below −10 °F at 6.5–7.5 min into freeze, or low probe still wet at the end of harvest. |
| E21–E24 | T1 / T2 / T3 / T4 Fault | That thermistor read out of range during pre-chill. |
| E25 | Bin Probe Fault | Bin level probe out of range for 10 minutes. |
| E28 | iAUCS | Automatic cleaning option chosen but the iAuCS board is not detected. Clears once it is connected. |
| E31 | Safe Mode | Running on stored model data because the water level or ice thickness probe failed (E19 / E20). |
How to enter service / parameter mode
- Tap the alert icon (it shows the number of messages) to see current alerts.
- Open the alert log from the menu to see past events with time stamps.
Other useful key presses
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Thaw cycle | If the curtain does not open within the 7-minute harvest, the board stops the compressor and circulates, dumps and refills water 18 times (about 1 hour) before trying another freeze. |
| End a thaw cycle | Turn the machine off and on at the keypad. Pulling the power instead restarts it in harvest. |
| Safe mode | Lets the machine run for up to 72 hours after an ice thickness (E19) or water level (E20) probe failure. |
Notes
- There is no E06, E13, E14, E17, E18, E26, E27, E29 or E30 in the handbook's list.
- E07 and E08 use the same temperature test; which one logs depends on the evaporator layout.
For licensed technicians only. This equipment can involve mains voltage, high-voltage microwave circuits, gas and refrigerant. Isolate power (and gas) before opening panels, follow the manufacturer's manual and your local licensing rules (for example ARC refrigerant handling and electrical or gas licences). Wrong settings can spoil food or damage equipment. Check every value on the unit in front of you before changing it.
