Nuova Simonelli Prontobar
Bean-to-cup machine whose display spells out the fault. Most alarms block coffee drinks until the cause is fixed.
What it is: Super-automatic espresso machine. Earlier Prontobar with text display. The later Prontobar Touch uses icons for the same faults.
Nuova Simonelli Prontobar error codes

| DRAWER FULL | Grounds drawer has reached its set count | Empty the drawer and refit it; wait for DRAWER OUT to clear. |
| DRAWER OUT | Grounds drawer not in place | Refit the drawer; check the magnet and magnetic reader and its wiring. |
| FRONT PANEL OPEN | Front panel open, or a bean hopper is out | Close the panel (check the door microswitch); refit the hopper and check its magnetic reader. |
| GROUP ERROR | Brew group took more than 10 s to reach position | Run TEST mode to watch the brew chamber; check the motor encoder plug and board; replace the motor. |
| TOO MUCH COFFEE | Group motor hit its current limit before the encoder count was reached | Upper piston entering the chamber freely; lubricate the group; grind dose too high; motor. |
| ALARM BOILER FILLING | Boiler fill took longer than 90 s and the level probe is still dry | Switch off and on (normal once on first fill); check and clean the fill solenoid and level probe. |
| ALARM COFFEE TEMP | Coffee boiler temperature probe fault | Probe connection; replace probe. |
| ALARM STEAM TEMP | Steam boiler temperature probe fault | Probe connection; replace probe. |
