Rational SelfCookingCenter (SCC)
Earlier Rational combi with a steam generator, CDS water sensor, level electrode, ClimaPlus humidity control and CleanJet+care. Service messages either show for 30 seconds after switch-on or stay on.
What it is: Combi oven. SCC Line with CareControl (CleanJet+care), electric and gas.
Rational SelfCookingCenter (SCC) error codes
| Code | Meaning | Likely cause | How to reset |
|---|---|---|---|
| Service 10 | SC pump (scale control) not working: water level does not drop | SC pump or steam generator drain hose | Clear with the arrow button. Cooking possible. Book a service. |
| Service 11 | CDS sensor counting too many pulses | Level electrode or water leaking through the check valve | Clear with the arrow button. Cooking possible. |
| Service 12 | No signal from the CDS sensor | Blocked CDS sensor, low water pressure | Clear with the arrow button. Cooking possible. |
| Service 13 | No low-water signal from the steam generator | Level electrode signal to the PCB | Hot air (manual) only. |
| Service 14 | Level electrode not sensing water | Low water conductivity, for example reverse-osmosis water | Clear with the arrow button. Dry heat only. |
| Service 16 / 17 | Old PCB software or EEPROM data faulty | Software / EEPROM | Unit will not run. EEPROM may need replacing. |
| Service 20 | Cabinet thermocouple B1 broken or out of range | Thermocouple B1 | Unit will not run (Combi-Steamer mode limited). Buzzer sounds 30 s. |
| Service 21 | ClimaPlus micro switch not working at start-up | Micro switch | Manual cooking without humidity control is possible. |
| Service 23 | Steam SSR shorted (B5 over 100 °C for 60 s with no demand) | Solid-state relay, steam side | Switch the unit off and call service. |
| Service 24 | Hot air SSR shorted (B1 rising past 200 °C with no demand) | Solid-state relay, hot air side | Switch the unit off and call service. |
| Service 25 | CleanJet not working: fan does not sense water | Water tap, CleanJet pump, solenoid, nozzle or pipe blocked; container left in cabinet | Open the tap fully, check the inlet screen, remove containers. Rinse by hand if it occurs mid-clean. |
| Service 26 | Drain valve stuck closed | Drain valve micro switch | Cooking not possible. Run Interrupt CleanJet if it appears during cleaning; replace the drain valve assembly. |
| Service 27 | Drain valve does not close | Drain valve micro switch | CleanJet not possible. Switch off at the mains for 5 s and back on. |
| Service 28 | Steam generator over 180 °C | Thermocouple B5 / scale | Clears below 110 °C. |
| Service 29 | Control PCB over 85 °C | Blocked air filter under the control panel, cooling fan, panel gasket, outside heat source | Clean or replace the air filter. Clears when it cools. |
| Service 30 | Humidity control not working | Humidity emergency control running for over an hour | Cooking possible with limits. |
| Service 31.xx | Core probe defective | Sub-number shows which sensing point failed (1 shaft, 2 5th, 4 4th, 8 3rd, 16 2nd, 32 tip; added together) | Cook without the core probe. |
| Service 32.0–32.2 | Ignition box internal error over 30 s (0 top, 1 bottom, 2 both) | Ignition box | Close the gas valve and call service. |
| Service 33.1–33.2 | No flame after 4 resets (1 top, 2 bottom burner) | Ignition wire, ignition box, gas valve, gas supply | Close the gas valve and call service. |
| Service 34.xx | No bus signal (1 I/O board, 2 bottom motor, 4 top motor, 8 top ignition, 16 bottom ignition; added together) | Bus cable or plug | Check the bus cables. |
| Service 40 | Care pump faulty or not delivering enough care solution | Kinked hose from the care pump | Run CleanJet+care again; call service if it repeats. |
| Service 41–44 | Solenoid valve Y3 / Y4, a valve passing water, or steam heating B5 fault during clean | Solenoids / steam heating | Run CleanJet+care again; call service if it repeats. |
Other useful key presses
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Clear a message | Faults that still allow cooking can be hidden with the Back (arrow) button. |
| Thermocouple fault beeps | The buzzer counts out which sensor failed, every 5 s: B1 12 beeps, B2 6, B4 5, B5 8, core probe 20. |
Notes
- Gas units: for any Service 32 or 33, close the gas valve before anything else.
For licensed technicians only. This equipment can involve mains voltage, high-voltage microwave circuits, gas and refrigerant. Isolate power (and gas) before opening panels, follow the manufacturer's manual and your local licensing rules (for example ARC refrigerant handling and electrical or gas licences). Wrong settings can spoil food or damage equipment. Check every value on the unit in front of you before changing it.
Based on: Rational SCC operating instructions (CareControl) and Rational SCC Line training manual (edition 10-2008a). Always check the manual for your exact model and software version.
