Dixell iChill IC260 / IC261 (L and D)
One- or two-circuit controller for air or water chillers and heat pumps, with up to six compressors, pumps, condenser fans and sanitary hot water.
What it is: Chiller / heat pump controller. IC260 has 10 relays, IC261 has 14. L models have the built-in display, D models are DIN-rail with a remote keypad.
Key combo: SET + DOWN for 3 s opens Pr1; hold UP 2 s for Pr2, again for Pr3 (each asks for its level code).
Dixell iChill IC260 / IC261 (L and D) error codes
| Code | Meaning | Likely cause | How to reset |
|---|---|---|---|
| AP1 … AP12 | Probe 1 to 12 fault | Probe open, shorted or not configured right | Automatic when the probe reads. Compressors stop if it is a control or circuit probe. |
| AEFL | Evaporator flow alarm | Flow switch open (no water flow) | Compressors and condenser fan off. Check pump, strainer and flow switch. |
| ACFL | Condenser flow alarm | Condenser water flow switch open | Compressors off. Manual reset if set that way. |
| AHFL / APFL | Sanitary water / solar panel flow alarm | Flow switch open on that loop | Check the pump and flow switch. |
| AtSF | Supply fan overload | Fan overload input tripped | Compressors off. Reset the overload. |
| AtE1 / AtE2 | Evaporator pump 1 / 2 overload | Pump overload input tripped | Compressors stop if no other pump is available. |
| AtC1 / AtC2 | Condenser pump 1 / 2 overload | Pump overload input tripped | As above. |
| AtAS / AtHS | Sanitary pump / sanitary heater overload | Overload input tripped | Reset the overload. |
| AEP1 / AEP2 / ACP1 / ACP2 / ASAn / ASUn | Pump maintenance due | Running-hours limit reached | Service, then reset the hour counter. |
| ArtC / ArtF | Clock error / clock faulty | Clock not set or failed | Set the clock; replace if it returns. |
| Atr1 / Atr2 | Remote keypad 1 / 2 fault | Lost connection to the remote panel | Check the CAB/CJ30 cable. |
| ALc1 / ALc2 | Generic alarm | Digital input set as generic alarm is active | Compressors, pumps and fans follow the alarm setting. |
| AEE | EEPROM alarm | Memory fault | Everything stops. Reprogram or replace. |
| ACF1, ACF2 … | Configuration alarm | Contradictory parameter settings | Correct the configuration (unit in stand-by). |
| AEUn | Unloading from high evaporator water temperature | Water too warm | Message only. |
| ALti | Low evaporator inlet temperature (air/air) | Inlet air too cold | Check airflow and set points. |
| AEht | High evaporator inlet water temperature | Water above the limit | Compressors stop. |
| AFr | Supply frequency alarm | Mains frequency wrong | Check the supply. |
| ALSF | Phase sequence failure | Phases reversed or missing | Correct the supply wiring. |
| b(n)HP / b(n)LP | High / low pressure switch, circuit (n) | Pressure switch open. (n) is the circuit number, 1 or 2. | Compressors of that circuit stop. |
| b(n)AC / b(n)AH | Anti-freeze in chiller / heat pump mode, circuit (n) | Water too cold | Compressors of that circuit stop. |
| b(n)hP / b(n)lP | High / low condensing pressure or temperature, circuit (n) | From transducer or NTC | Compressors of that circuit stop. |
| b(n)tF | Condenser fan overload, circuit (n) | Fan overload tripped | Compressors of that circuit stop. |
| b(n)PH / b(n)PL | Pump-down alarm at stop / at start-up, circuit (n) | Pump-down did not finish in time | Compressors of that circuit stop. |
| b(n)dF | Bad defrost, circuit (n) | Defrost ended on time, not temperature | Check the defrost probe and setup. |
| b(n)Cu | Unloading, circuit (n) | High condenser or low evaporator temperature/pressure | Capacity reduced automatically. |
| b(n)ds | Circuit (n) disabled from keypad | Switched off by the user | Re-enable in the menu. |
| C(n)HP | Compressor (n) high pressure switch | Pressure switch on that compressor open. (n) = 1 to 6 | That compressor stops. |
| C(n)oP | Compressor (n) oil pressure / oil level switch | Oil switch open | That compressor stops. |
| C(n)tr | Compressor (n) overload | Thermal protection tripped | Reset with COtr in the function menu. |
| C(n)dt | Compressor (n) high discharge temperature | Discharge too hot | That compressor stops. |
| C(n)Pd | Compressor (n) oil differential | Oil differential switch open | That compressor stops. |
| C(n)dS | Compressor (n) disabled from keypad | Switched off by the user | Re-enable in the menu. |
| C(n)Mn | Compressor (n) maintenance due | Running-hours limit reached | Service, then reset the counter. |
How to enter service / parameter mode
- Function menu (alarm list, compressor overload reset, alarm log, Hot Key upload): press the M key once.
- In the menu pick ALrM: the bottom display shows each alarm code. Scroll with up/down; press SET on one to reset it if its cause has gone.
- Parameters: press SET + DOWN together for 3 s for Pr1. From Pr1 hold UP 2 s for Pr2 and again for Pr3. Each level asks for its own access code (see the manual; the codes can be changed).
How to change and save a setting
- Scroll to the parameter family and parameter with up/down, press SET to edit.
- Change with up/down and press SET to store.
- Configuration (CF) parameters can only be changed with the unit in stand-by, not running in chiller or heat pump.
Other useful key presses
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Reset compressor overload | Function menu → COtr |
| Read / clear alarm log | Function menu → ALOG |
| Copy parameters to Hot Key | Function menu → UPL |
Notes
- The full parameter list runs to hundreds of codes and is not repeated here; use the guide for your firmware.
- Some flow and pump alarms are set for manual reset and need SET in the alarm list once fixed.
For licensed technicians only. This equipment can involve mains voltage, high-voltage microwave circuits, gas and refrigerant. Isolate power (and gas) before opening panels, follow the manufacturer's manual and your local licensing rules (for example ARC refrigerant handling and electrical or gas licences). Wrong settings can spoil food or damage equipment. Check every value on the unit in front of you before changing it.
