Dixell XR06CX
Two-digit panel controller (32×74 mm face) that runs the compressor, evaporator fans and defrost (electric or hot gas) from a room probe and an evaporator probe, plus one configurable digital input.
What it is: Refrigeration controller. Same keypad logic as the XR01CX, XR02CX, XR03CX and XR04CX. Defaults below are for the XR06CX.
Key combo: Hold SET + DOWN for 3 s to open the parameter list. Hold SET + DOWN again for more than 7 s to reach the hidden (full) menu.
Dixell XR06CX error codes
| Code | Meaning | Likely cause | How to reset |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1 | Room (thermostat) probe fault | Probe open, shorted or badly connected | Clears by itself a few seconds after the probe reads normally again. Check wiring before swapping the probe. While it shows, the compressor cycles on the Cy / Cn times. |
| P2 | Evaporator probe fault | Probe open, shorted or badly connected | Clears by itself once the probe reads normally. While it shows, defrost ends on time (Md) instead of temperature. |
| HA | High temperature alarm | Room temperature above the AU limit for longer than Ad | Clears by itself when temperature drops back inside the limit. Outputs are not changed. |
| LA | Low temperature alarm | Room temperature below the AL limit for longer than Ad | Clears by itself when temperature rises back inside the limit. |
| EA | External alarm from the digital input (iF = EA) | Contact on the digital input changed state for longer than di | Clears as soon as the digital input returns to normal. Outputs are not changed. |
| CA | Serious external alarm (iF = bA) | Digital input active for longer than di | All outputs switch off. Clears as soon as the digital input returns to normal. |
| dA | Door open alarm (iF = do) | Door switch open for longer than di | Clears when the door closes. With rd = y, control restarts even while the alarm shows. |
| OF | Keypad locked | UP + DOWN held for 3 s | Hold UP + DOWN for 3 s until On shows. |
| Er | Hot Key copy failed | Bad or empty Hot Key, poor contact | Press UP to retry the upload, or pull the key to abort. |
How to enter service / parameter mode
- Hold SET and DOWN together for 3 seconds. The °C or °F LED starts flashing: you are in the first-level (user) list.
- For every parameter, release, then hold SET and DOWN again for more than 7 seconds. L2 shows, then the first parameter (Hy). This is the hidden menu with every parameter.
- If the first level is empty, nP shows after 3 seconds. Keep holding until L2 appears.

How to change and save a setting
- Scroll with UP or DOWN to the parameter code.
- Press SET to show its value.
- Change it with UP or DOWN.
- Press SET to store it. The display moves on to the next parameter.
- To leave, press SET + UP, or wait 15 seconds without touching a key. The value is kept either way.
Other useful key presses
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Move a parameter between levels | In the hidden menu, press SET + DOWN on a parameter to add it to or remove it from the first level. A lit decimal point means it is in the first level. |
| Set point only | Hold SET for 3 s, adjust with UP/DOWN within 10 s, press SET again (or wait 10 s) to store. |
| Manual defrost | Hold DEF for more than 2 s. |
| Hot Key upload | Controller on, insert the key, press UP. uP then flashing Ed shows. Press SET, then power off and remove the key. |
| Hot Key download | Power off, insert a programmed key, power on. do then flashing Ed shows; the unit restarts with the new settings after about 10 s. |
Notes
- The manual lists the FC default for the XR06CX as printed above; check the actual value on the controller before relying on it.
- Parameter values are saved even if you exit by timeout.
